Frost & Fire Hotel This is definitely our top pick for a relaxing stay in Hveragerði. The hotel is built on the banks of the river Varmá, which is partly geothermal and warm enough to bath in some areas.  Frost & Fire Hotel is far away from being a super-sized resort, it’s more like a friendly guesthouse with all the comfort and amenities of a hotel. With only 22 rooms your stay becomes much more personal and it never feels overcrowded. All the rooms have a private entrance to the outdoor spa area which includes two geothermal hot tubs, right by the river, and a nice swimming pool. The spa also includes a steam bath and a meditation room to relax in and cool off between hot tub dips. We really enjoyed sitting in the jacuzzis listening to the river float by and watching the hot springs steam up from the iron-red coloured hills. Dinner We dined at the Varmá restaurant while staying at the Frost and Fire Guesthouse. The food is fantastic and it was truly a wonderful evening in a relaxing setting.
